A warning woof – Even though Shiba Inu (SHIB) has become a particularly popular crypto, this fame unfortunately attracts scams that are, in turn, all too common in the cryptosphere. The team behind the Shiba dog meme-coin warns its community of the scams that threaten it.

Shiba Inu shows its fangs against crooks

When the cryptocurrency Shiba Inu was born, parodying the already-parody that was Dogecoin (DOGE), very few people believed it. Yet, the few investors who have bet on SHIB have sometimes become millionaires in a few months thanks to this memecoin.

But the downside of this dazzling and unprecedented success is that it attracts ill-intentioned people, who wish to take advantage of the fashion phenomenon to extort unsuspecting Shiba Inu fans. So much so that the team behind the funny cryptocurrency was forced to warn its community of a series of dangerous scams, via a warning message on Twitter:

“Be vigilant and stay safe, dear ShibArmy! We have been made aware of a recent scam, transiting through social networks and other communication platforms. Here is a video recap to provide more information about it.”

Fake accounts and channels on Telegram attempt to steal SHIB

The scams in question are unfortunately pretty standard in the cryptosphere. As seen in the video of the Shiba Inu team: a fake Telegram group imitating Shiba Inu as well as fake accounts impersonating the official accounts of the project.

Likewise, the community should not expect airdrops, gifts, bonuses and other giveaways from Shiba Inu, and consider such too-good-to-be-true offers as extortion attempts.

The team also reminded us of the basic security rules of any good crypto investor, the first of which is to never share your private wallet keys, to anyone and for any reason.

If the lucky bettors who made millions very quickly thanks to Shiba Inu want to keep them, they’ll have to watch out for the vultures that are constantly circling the cryptosphere, seizing on the slightest oversight. In the meantime, the success for the dog token does not let up, and after Coinbase and Binance, it is now the crypto exchange Gemini that adds the SHIB to its crypto offering.
